To Encase.

An Insight by Luke Cowling.

I love a good film, much like everybody else, and I like to use this platform to give insights into my personality. The things we enjoy in comparison with other people is what defines our personality, what separates us as individuals. As such, I thought I might list some of the films that I enjoy above all others; ones that have meant something to me, moved me, entertained me, changed me, made me laugh, made me cry, etc. You get the gist of it.

What's the best way to do this though? Well there are literally hundreds of thousands of top 10 lists across youtube, blogs, social media, etc. They're the done thing lately. And if it ain't broke, don't fix so it. So, here's my list of films. Mind you they are in no particular order, not listed 10 through 1 in order of significance, merely listed as the ten most meaningful to myself.

The Godfather Part II, from Francis Ford Coppola.

The Green Mile, from Frank Darabont.

The Shawshank Redemption, from Frank Darabont.

True Story, from Rupert Goold.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, from Peter Jackson.

Inglorious Basterds, from Quentin Tarantino.

The Emporer's New Groove, from Mark Dindal.

The Wolf of Wall Street, from Martin Scorsese.

The Devil Wears Prada, from David Frankel.

The Social Network, from David Fincher.

It's a diverse list of the films I've most loved over the years, for a variety of reasons. Their social impact, the casting, the musical score, the creative direction, the story, everything really. These ten rise to be the cream, for myself. Whilst they might not be the best films ever made, or even the most critically acclaimed, these are the ones I find myself drawn to again and again.

To Smoke.

A Review by Luke Cowling. A little backstory on my interest in The Witcher series, I've played a game and I have seen the Netflix series and my opinion on the media that has resulted from that universe is really mixed. But I realise the interest in that universe just might have expanded greatly recently, so I wanted to throw my two cents in on a form of media relating to The Witcher that I received recently. This is my review of the production of the graphic novel collection produces by dark horse and cd recently, and my thoughts on how the print came out, and whether the production warrants an intrusion from your wallet. As always, thank you so much for the support, LPC.
