To Excite.

A Snippet by Luke Cowling.

I’m really excited about my new upcoming works, and I’d like to take a moment to share some of the inspiration and direction that I’ve decided to take the Owenoak series.

First and foremost the upcoming works will most likely remain untitled during much of the creative process.I have something in mind, but it wouldn’t really do to share it now, and have the title change in post production, or during the writing itself.

I can tell you that there is a large time lapse between the latter parts of the first book, and the picking up of the sequel. I’ve decided this in part because of the theme direction I wanted to take the sequel, which is a fantastic steampunk setting, and that didn’t really align with where the first story’s time setting sat.

There are some returning characters despite those though, and I think they might subvert most expectations, but that’ll be my secret for now.

As far as completion and when the title can be expected, it’s really difficult to say. I do consider the piece my most ambitious project to date, and that does come at the cost of a rather large time sink.

I can say that the concept of the story has all but been planned out, it’s just the physical sitting down and writing of the piece that needs doing. And we’re just about shy of 4 1/2 chapters. So as excited as I am to share the work, it is in its infancy. And I am so excited because I really feel that this genre or the tone and characteristics of the book are really uncommon, in tackling high-fantasy, steam punk and climate change, all rolled in to one. See! Ambitious!

Anyway, super excited to share more as the book comes along.

A Review by Luke Cowling. A little backstory on my interest in The Witcher series, I've played a game and I have seen the Netflix series and my opinion on the media that has resulted from that universe is really mixed. But I realise the interest in that universe just might have expanded greatly recently, so I wanted to throw my two cents in on a form of media relating to The Witcher that I received recently. This is my review of the production of the graphic novel collection produces by dark horse and cd recently, and my thoughts on how the print came out, and whether the production warrants an intrusion from your wallet. As always, thank you so much for the support, LPC.
